For sure! If autofocus is important then def go with the ZV-1. Oh and another weird thing about the G7 is it can't record and output HDMI at the same time, so it's good as a livestreaming cam but not if you're also going to record on camera.

Can't go wrong with the Sony ZV-1, but you'll want to get the USB DC coupler to power it consistently. Slightly cheaper is the LUMIX G7, I have a bunch of those around the studio.

Absolutely, it's pretty cool to be able to search my phone for something and it's also searching the text in my photos!

TIL you can select text inside images in Safari on iOS! 🤯

I have thought about this more than once as well, but then I realize I barely know what to do with the NFC sticker on the back of my phone case and the one I carry in my wallet. Suggestions?

Definitely a rug, and then lots of stuff everywhere to break up the flat surfaces of the walls. If you want to, put fancy sound panels on the walls and ceilings, but if you can't, just filling the walls with shelves and decorations will help.
Nice! Looking good!!

There's a ton of apps like this, I don't think it's a problem. Someone ported my iOS app to Android recently even. Also from what I read in (your!) HN thread, the reason it was removed from the Google Play store had nothing to do with privacy? news.ycombinator.com/item?id…

I mean my laptop has 14gb free right now and XCode is 12.6gb. I did just see all the headlines about issues with XCode 13.2 so I guess I'm gonna put off this project until they get that sorted out.

also my poor little M1 MacBook Air doesn't have enough disk space to even download XCode, so I guess I'm gonna do that on an older computer. or buy a bigger macbook

It's been over 3 years since I've published an update for Overland, my GPS tracker app, and I am a little terrified to re-download XCode and see how much work it's going to take to even make it compile now 😬 overland.p3k.app

weird, I got mine in October and I don't even think there was a special box to tick, just had to be 6 months after J&J

I haven't written anything specific about it because it's mostly a bunch of low-level gibberish around http signing and creating funny JSON blobs, but I did spin out the code into a standalone service I've used for other bots github.com/aaronpk/Nautilus

I've implemented ActivityPub directly into my website, so my website is its own ActivityPub instance in the Fediverse. So there's definitely some overlap and grey areas between the two, but yeah generally Fediverse refers to the ActivityPub model of many ppl on one instance.

Oh yea I think I've heard that about ATL before, but didn't know about ABQ! I think I've said "SF" a grand total of like 4 times, and I 100% agree that if someone said "SFO" I would in no way assume they mean the city

Interestingly we do actually refer to the city of Portland by our airport code PDX but I realize we are an exception here 🤷‍♂️

That feeling when you're going through a website's registration flow and even though it's custom branded and looks unique there's something oddly familiar about it, then you look up the DNS records for their domain and realize they're pointing to @okta 😅
