for april 1 next year I think I'm going to change the oauth.net home page to show just a login page that asks you to type in your google username and password and see what happens 😎

hm yeah, my last phone was a 6S with an old battery and it was not a good experience. I suspect they made some good upgrades in the GPS hardware since then too which might contribute to it.

30% for real? I have mine running on the highest setting 100% of the time and my phone says the app is using 16%! What model?

I don't think it's changed a ton since then!

hmm I don't think I did include explicit instructions in the readme! Should be the same as the install process tho... `composer install` and `php artisan migrate`

It seems to be socially acceptable to watch videos on your phone with the sound turned on in public places like restaurants and cafes in Memphis. I've seen *so many* people of all ages here doing it, and nobody seems to complain. Is this a regional thing?

haha good point! For some reason I have no trouble starting and stopping trips manually in Overland, but I can't be bothered to manually start and stop a sleep tracker!

Does the external GPU thing actually work? It's been a while since I looked into it but my understanding was very few apps can actually take advantage of it, and exporting a rendered video would not use it. It'd only speed up the UI while editing.

I know from past experience that anything that requires manual intervention by me to start or stop sleep tracking I will eventually forget to do it and lose data. FitBit (and Jawbone) are the only things I've used that are automatic.

Yea, I'm not interested in half-baked solutions for a $399 device. At that price it better be able to do at least what a $99 FitBit can do.
2
welp, the rumors were true, Google did in fact buy FitBit: theverge.com/2019/11/1/20943… I *want* to switch to an Apple watch, but I can't until it has built-in automatic sleep tracking like the FitBit does!

Yep! wordpress.org/plugins/webmen… It's completely self-contained, no external services, and integrates with the native WordPress comments system.

There's definitely room for someone to come in and build a better solution tailored to all the specific limitations of static sites! What you're seeing is the side effect of these solutions not having been built specifically with static sites in mind.

Not sure I understand why this is "failed"? I'm guessing you are using a static site generator. That's going to give you lots of problems trying to do anything dynamic, kind of by definition.

"funds that needs spent" 😂 I know that tune. That sounds like someone who has a well-paying full-time job doing something other than making YouTube videos.

Yes! They're posting the video soon and when they do I'll post a link to it and the slides!

I forget these things living in a large apartment building where it seemingly can't get below 70 inside and I sometimes even find myself opening the windows in the winter because it's too warm inside

😮 it gets down to 48 inside your house?? That must be an expensive heating bill
