They used to do it pretty often for me over the phone, but lately I've been getting a strong "no". Return and re-purchase is the only option, which seems a bit drastic and like it costs them more. 🤷♂️
Working with people in both Europe and Australia basically means there are zero hours where you don't get emails and slack messages. It's always someone's work day 24 hours around the clock.
Signs you might be traveling too much:
You start measuring streaks not by the number of nights away from home, but by the number of nights you spend *at* home.
Yeah totally. That was why I was bashing my head against the wall for a while when I first tried this API out. I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. The worst part is it's based on the first time the user approves the app regardless of whether the app finishes the flow.
Something about Apple's decision to do "OAuth-but-not-quite" rubbed me the wrong way, but this is a great example of how it breaks down very concretely.
A lot changes in 4 years. It used to be there was only one guy driving a taxi between Ontario and Redlands. Now there's a Lyft pickup location at the airport! Very glad I don't have to rent a car anymore!
Relatedly, I'm back at Esri HQ tomorrow for the first time in 4 years!
I just want to make sure the footage isn't uploaded anywhere. None of these explanations give me much confidence 😆 A button to specifically disable cloud recording would be great.
that said, I'm very curious about Vidsummit, it looks interesting! I feel like Vidcon was a good crash course in Youtube for me, but I'm not sure I can justify two conferences in the same year tho.
Vidcon has the whole creator and industry tracks which have zero to do with fans. It's sessions about making videos. The expo hall was all tracks combined, so it was a little funny to have the Sennheiser booth next to the M&M booth.
I'd never heard of it before. They're clearly competing with Vidcon with their home page copy! 😂 "VidSummit is NOT a place where influencers connect with their fans."
If you turn off motion, sound, smoke alarm, and CO alarm detection you will disable cloud recording. You can still record locally to a microSD card and view the live stream in this case! But you won't have push notifications because those are generated by AWS.
Can we get a toggle that completely disables cloud uploading/recording?
The references for how to disable cloud recording by turning off a bunch of switches don't match up with the latest version of the app!
I use GigSky with my iPhone's virtual SIM! It's so nice that I don't have to swap SIM cards, and their rates are not the cheapest but totally reasonable, and it's just so so easy. I never think about it anymore.
