Not just from *a* trusted source, since that's what got us into this mess in the first place. IndieAuth is all about letting each person choose an auth provider they trust, even if that is themselves. It's the original goals of OpenID built on OAuth.
Sure, but that's a different problem. Point is if we didn't have OAuth apps would have been able to get a lot more data since they'd just be logging in as you!
"as we now learn that OAUTH, or Open Authorisation, is one of the many ways that Facebook and the app developers conspire to access not only your data, but that of your friends and contacts" heraldscotland.com/news/1610… Not quite a fair statement.
It never occurred to me that people would be blaming @oauth_2 for the Facebook mess. Friendly reminder that OAuth is what lets you control *which* parts of your Facebook data apps get access to, and what lets you revoke that access, which you can do here: facebook.com/settings?tab=ap…
This seems like a good time to re-read @hertling's book Kill Process, in which the protagonist, a database programmer at the world's largest social network, decides to destroy the company by decentralizing social networking #indiewebamzn.to/2FWgmUc
Saw some posts from your lightning talk last night! Feel free to drop by the #indieweb Slack to talk about planning IndieWebCamp Oxford! chat.indieweb.org/slack

Only the 15" Pro has a quad core CPU so that's the only one the Elgato will work on. Can confirm it does not work on a 13" Pro. Your best bet would probably be to get a USB-C to Thunderbolt converter and the Blackmagic.
Thanks! OpenID Connect is actually OAuth 2 plus an identity layer, and has nothing to do with OpenID 1. While useful, OIDC doesn't solve the same bring-your-own-identity goals that OpenID 1 did.
In related news, indieauth.com usage is steadily growing. However the vast majority of that is people logging in to StackExchange since it was one of the last remaining OpenID consumers 😂
Actually if you also run high-res GPS logging then the visit data is basically 100% accurate. It records a visit exactly 10 minutes after you stop somewhere. If you want to experiment with it, that's what all the toggles in Overland are for! overland.p3k.io
It's *pretty* good, especially when combined with some regular GPS updates. Some additional processing and you can do pretty well. But like I said, I still need to do some more experimenting tho.
