You have to run a server to catch the data rn, so iCloud drive would be easier. Doesn't tick the "data never leaves the device" box though.

I'm thinking about making it store data in iCloud Drive as well so it'd be easier to use. Would that be an ok compromise?

There's plenty of structure in these HTML files, that's how the ToC is generated.

What's legacy about that? It's an actively developed tool, and I was following their rec's: princexml.com

I'm not going to maintain individual XML files for the ncx/opf files. Those need to be generated automatically from my content.

HTML, a file for each chapter and section, with Microformats to indicate chapter names for building the ToC...

by "hand", I mean with some PHP scripts. e.g. the TOC is generated by parsing my source files, etc.

Generator? I'm creating it by hand. It's quite a mess of various XML formats and namespaces with no meaningful significance

oh awesome, I heard lots of people were complaining about the lack of this! Glad to see that it'll be fixed.
Just released an update to overland.p3k.io! • Supports iOS 10.3 • Better error messages • Set a custom device ID for fleet tracking

ugh I hate when apps and devices do this. There should always be a "later" option.
