#BurningMan created an art installation one can see from space. It's called INSANITY and included tens of thousands of people burning thousands of gallons of gas while spending up to 13 hours trying to exit the festival in 110 degree heat.
As I'm sure comes at no surprise, given the deadline is next week, the FAA is delaying the enforcement of Remote ID for another 3 months to give drone manufacturers more time to figure things out.
The FAA announced at @ExpoUAV that it will use enforcement discretion for drone manufacturers who are making progress towards Remote ID compliance through December 16, 2022. Full details will be posted to the Federal Register on September 8. #expouav
Update: a week later and traffic has fallen off of Cloudflare. Interestingly I don't see a corresponding increase on the origin server's bandwidth usage, but I do see more requests in the access log.
Sometimes I get annoyed that it takes me 10 hours to make a video that takes you 10 minutes to watch.
So my goal with every video is that it gets at least as much total watch time as it took me to make it, then it's worth it.
Dear Brands™
If you work with a PR agency for your outreach to creators, *please* give them an email address at your company domain, otherwise when I get an email "on behalf of X brand" I have no way of verifying this is legitimate, and this is exactly how channels get hacked.
well I did my (very small) part and migrated my two websites off of Cloudflare today. I'm sure my origin server can handle the extra 26gb/mo of traffic itself just fine.
So... how long until I can train an AI model with a bunch of talking head videos of myself and then type out a script and have it generate a video of me speaking? Seems like we're not that far off.
Sure would speed up the process of filming all this course content.
I just updated my PHP emoji detector library to Emoji 14.0! Better late than never! My new favorites:

Inspired by a post by a frequent flyer, I am documenting the CO2 levels (as proxy of other people’s exhalation) on my way to #GartnerIAM.
Here’s the baseline, outside while waiting for the Uber
I've been carrying this co2 sensor with me the last few days and it's really interesting to see how different various environments like outside/cars/plane are. It also has a barometric pressure sensor. Guess when the flight was.
