Huge crowds out today to hear @aaronpk discussing Smarter Home Automation Without The Cloud. Starting out with some great examples of when home automation has gone horribly wrong if servers go down. #oredevnitter.vloup.ch/BaileyHanna/stat…
Last night at the #oredev speaker dinner I got to participate in either an old Swedish tradition or an elaborate prank they play on foreigners: alternating between the sauna and jumping into the Baltic Sea three times.
Either way it was a fun experience. 😆
Slides from my "How to Hack OAuth" talk at #oredev are up!

Thanks everyone for coming to watch and I hope you got something out of it! I'll post again when the video is out!
Trying to use emoji in my slides and I have some questions:
1) why is there no "window" emoji
2) why is there a floor lamp in the couch 🛋 emoji
3) why is there only a lightbulb 💡 on, but not off
Made it to Malmö! Looking forward to Øredev this week where I'll be giving two talks!

See you there! 🎉
for april 1 next year I think I'm going to change the oauth.net home page to show just a login page that asks you to type in your google username and password and see what happens 😎
It seems to be socially acceptable to watch videos on your phone with the sound turned on in public places like restaurants and cafes in Memphis. I've seen *so many* people of all ages here doing it, and nobody seems to complain. Is this a regional thing?
welp, the rumors were true, Google did in fact buy FitBit: theverge.com/2019/11/1/20943…
I *want* to switch to an Apple watch, but I can't until it has built-in automatic sleep tracking like the FitBit does!
me: "someone is wrong on the internet!"
also me: tries to find out why this person might be misinformed and track down the root cause to help more people not get confused again later
also also me: this sounds like a lot more work than writing an angry comment
My todo list in @Todoist got so long that I started a new one for a specific project in Notes and it's been working great.
Not sure if this speaks more to the usability of Todoist or my own organizational skills.
I'm not gonna say JSON Web Tokens are *bad* (if used properly), but I'm also not gonna say they're *great* either.

Previously I had been recording everything, but in reality I'm never going to go back and listen through a two-hour recording. So this way I will actually listen to the recordings because there's only a few minutes worth!
A thing I started doing: instead of recording my full workshops, I set a voice memo recorder on the podium, and when someone has a question, I press record, repeat the question, and then answer it. Now my recorder is full of Q&A that I can incorporate back into the presentation!
Oooof. Was just subjected to the most credible phishing attempt I've experienced to date. Here were the steps:
1) "Hi, this is your bank. There was an attempt to use your card in Miami, Florida. Was this you?"
Me: no.
