I decided to make and can hot sauce the same morning as @xoxo and now I am stuck here literally watching this pot boil instead of heading to registration

This @jack situation is making me rethink my phone number strategy. I've been treating my SIM number as disposable and easily replaceable, where the number I use for 2FA is a google voice number. But now I'm thinking treating my SIM number as a password is a better plan.

I've reached the point that a day trip to the Bay Area from Portland is effectively the same as a "long commute to work". I'm also pretty sure this is still shorter than some peoples' commutes within the Bay Area.

Update: I spent an hour cleaning and organizing, and ended up with two bags to take to goodwill. Not bad.

Working with people in both Europe and Australia basically means there are zero hours where you don't get emails and slack messages. It's always someone's work day 24 hours around the clock.

Signs you might be traveling too much: You start measuring streaks not by the number of nights away from home, but by the number of nights you spend *at* home.

A lot changes in 4 years. It used to be there was only one guy driving a taxi between Ontario and Redlands. Now there's a Lyft pickup location at the airport! Very glad I don't have to rent a car anymore! Relatedly, I'm back at Esri HQ tomorrow for the first time in 4 years!

The problem with airline status is by the time you get it, you've flown so much that you don't really want to fly anymore.

You know those airplane seatbelts with an awkward amount of padding on one side? Apparently they are airbags! I was sitting here waiting to take off and had to look that up. The reason for using them is also fascinating. stuckattheairport.com/2011/0…

:sigh: another day, another website that hardcodes their @oauth_2 client secret in JavaScript 🤦‍♂️

Signs you might be traveling too much: You find yourself increasingly often not knowing the answer when people ask "what city were you in last week?"

I'm also very glad I can use TLS without really knowing how it works.
