Every game is just Unreal or Unity and the same clunky shit, running worse than games from the 2000s. Modern CPUs and threadsafe code allows for insanely complex simulation. Imagine Dwarf Fortress designed ground-up for 64 cores. So where are the autistic passion projects?

Try Noita or Teardown. Was developed on in house game engines by pretty talented indie devs. Both are very technologically impressive.
