Every game is just Unreal or Unity and the same clunky shit, running worse than games from the 2000s. Modern CPUs and threadsafe code allows for insanely complex simulation. Imagine Dwarf Fortress designed ground-up for 64 cores. So where are the autistic passion projects?

This generation's only "passion" is for success. Any time you hear someone say they have a passion project, they don't really. No one is just happy creating anymore. They don't have ambition. They don't wanna break new ground. What they really want is just success. (1/2)

Well, @ID_AA_Carmack is still out there preaching. Maybe we'll get a few disciples out of it, and see some real magic eventually

Most modern engines are really inefficient (Even text based Unity games kills CPU) Game devs now only know how to use modern engines they can't actually code. If you can code with C++ to create a game you will be really well paid elsewhere (instead of doing a passion project)

I would contribute to an autistic strategy map game

They are too busy pretending to be women and/or just being an annoyance and a burden to everyone.

Something something HRT devastating the autistic community. At least I have Rimworld, Starsector, and mount & blade to keep going back to.

This has been the year in which I finally grew out of video games. Ironically around the time I upgraded my gpu. The idea of sitting down and booting up a game feels like a chore and a complete waste of my time.
