ok, it's time to stop doomposting and it's time to start planning for my boomer future Amerimutts, if I return to the fatherland, how easy is it to get into fishing? What sort of time investment am I looking at between commitment and grilling a large mouth bass for supper?

You’ll be fine, first day. To get really good it’ll take time but you’ll love it.

We fish Lake Erie, it’s super fun, but shore fishing isnt gonna net you the big ones. You’ll need a small bass boat at least, licensing, fees, etc. You can spend a shitload to fish, I see dudes with sonar and shit. A ten hour fishing trip is normal.

It’s so easy that you can be trashed out of your mind and still catch them.
