The author encourages people to donate to @EFF but it's worth mentioning that the EFF is no longer useful for its original purpose and key members of its structure are politically active. The EFF is not a hero. There are no heroes. No one is coming to save the Internet.

Met my wife on omegle. True story. Almost a decade ago now. As far as underage users going on there, that's on the parents, and adults should not have services restricted due to other people's bad parenting. As for csam spammers, law enforcement should deal with that.

Running a service like that sounds miserable, I'm not surprised the operator eventually gave up. Apparently they were dealing with a $21 million lawsuit over CSAM and had the ADL breathing down their necks. web.archive.org/web/20230515…
