If you are mid-playthrough, the new build will recognize any ongoing save so just make a new folder for the zip contents or replace all old ones and you're good to go!

I just hate how I was trying for an entire hour the final pacifist boss without realizing there was a patch. I'm so mad at myself, my eyes hurt.

Specific instructions would be helpful. This isn't explicit enough to ensure that mistakes won't be made copying things over.
