McCarthy's tweet is another example of ill-informed, short sighted, poor leadership in America. Even the thinking pattern of McCarthy displays is to "get China and India etc." hooked on U.S. gas ... it's rather naive and dishonest short-sighted and in many respects counter-productive.
Just look at the past 100 years or so, America's giant mistake of becoming dependent on oil. China, India and the like are smart enough to avoid this historic costly mistake thrust upon the American people.
Further, by 2030 fusion energy will be commercially available worldwide, and it's already being developed by China, India and many other countries including the USA.
Within five to 10 years, several companies will resolve scientific and technological challenges to create designs for a fusion pilot plant (s) that will help bring fusion to both technical and commercial viability.
