The Supreme Court just ruled that no American should be denied educational opportunities because of race. Now students will be able to compete based on equal standards and individual merit. This will make the college admissions process fairer and uphold equality under the law.

@NBC is discussing the nuances of the Court鈥檚 decision with lawyers and school admission officials. @SpeakerMcCarthy鈥檚 opinion is less than worthless. Legacy admissions and donor sympathies should be the first casualty.

Diversity is an important value in today's society. I am glad I went to both high school and college with people from different ethnic, socio-economic, religious, racial, geographic backgrounds. It is an essential part of a good education. Vote Blue.

That鈥檚 not it means. It means white kids will go to college and the rest will be denied. Your SC justices were purchased by Singer, Crow and Leo. They鈥檙e an illegitimate court. Somehow they think this ruling will end systemic racism. It won鈥檛.

But they can still get in just because parent went there or you are rich. GW Bush a C student went to Yale not on his merits. If you think for a minute saying race can鈥檛 be a factor but money, influence and being a legacy can makes it equal you are lying to yourself as well as us

Unfortunately Kevin, students aren鈥檛 provided equal experiences at the K-12 levels therefore poor people and minorities are at a significant disadvantage for college admissions.
