You're looking at a photo circa February 1944 Guilia Field - Cerignola, Italy - Coffee Tower - 751st Squadron 459th Bomb Group 15th Air Force: Mudcat was the First B-24 crew to recover from a forced Stall. It occurred at 25,000 ft. over Steyr, Austria Mar 26, 44' & was one hell of a feat pulled off by Pilot 1st Lt. John Dabbert. Lower Right... NCOIC Robert H Redfield-Houston whose manuscript tells the story. The 15th Air Force Refused to accept 1st Lt Dabbert's recovery report because Consolidated Mfg said it was impossible for a B24 to recover from a Stall! I ask ...were this crew's efforts in Vain? Mind you this B-24 named Mudcat looked like it was landing oblique from twisting in flight recovery & went to the bone yards an ending... that angered the Brass. Pettiness aside I ask Where can we find a MudCat quality Crew Today?
