Do you have an extra $800 lying around? That's how much more you owe as your share of the national debt since January 12th—when I first called on President Biden to negotiate. His delay has real consequences. His default would be even worse.

Raise taxes on the super rich. Seems reasonable given if they lived somewhere else they'd never be super rich. Our society gave them the opportunity. They should give back not take more. Make them be slightly less super rich. Take care of working people with policies that protect Social Security and guarantee quality health care for our elderly.

We hear you’re going to cave on the money for the IRS. Is that true?

Speaker McCarthy…the suggested “rollback” to 2022 is a joke and betrays the American taxpayer. Chart below shows long term federal expenditures. We can see the trillion+ extra emergency pandemic spending EASILY. This CANNOT become permanent. Red line drawn to show if we continued baseline trajectory from 2019. The anchor should be 2019 spending. NOT elevated 2022. Get serious.

Congress already passed it. If the government defaults, it's on them. The federal government can stop paying employees, something that many of us had to do during the pandemic and survived.
