McCarthy has treated the debt ceiling like a game from the start. McCarthy admitted during Trump's presidency that the debt ceiling is about paying existing debt, which it is. It is not about future budgets. The only responsible act is to raise the ceiling without conditions.

Sooo tired of politicians playing ping pong and getting rich while playing the game. You’re not doing anything! Tired of the lies, the bickering, the way you divide people. Tired of paying taxes only to see the funds sent to other countries. Tired of being told what we can and cannot say!!
