Just got off the phone with the president while he’s out of the country. My position has not changed. Washington cannot continue to spend money we do not have at the expense of children and grandchildren. Tomorrow, he and I will meet in person to continue negotiations.

Yes and Biden has been more than clear on the subject. If you won't take a bipartisan approach then there will be no deal. You also refuse to increase revenue all while cutting programs for the poor, sick, disabled, and elderly. It's a give and take approach he's going with while you're doing all the taking, yet giving nothing back in return. Not to mention you don't need a budget agreement to raise the debt in the first place. It's been done 100 times before. That's why it will be all on you if it does go down.

Yeah, you’re such a tough guy. What you’re gonna do is allow a clean debt ceiling bill, and separately negotiate with the White House on spending cuts as part of the budget process.. the way it’s always been done. Attempting to make yourself look important isn’t working.😉

Lol it’s so obvious to anyone paying any attention. If McCarthy was being truthful, “spending money we don’t have” would actually mean balancing the budget and no debt ceiling increase. Will never happen.
