Congress has an obligation under the Constitution to pay our nations debt and has ALWAYS done so by raising the debt limit cleanly. This is money ALREADY owed. So STOP THE BS and do YOUR JOB by bringing a bill to the floor that cleanly raises the debt ceiling! Your demand for future cuts in programs Americans rely on as a condition is total crap! How does any of this help the American people? And where was your concern about the growing deficit when Trump was President? And about social security? Ha! Back when TRUMP was in power you had NO problem adding to the deficit with HUGE tax cuts to the wealthiest and corporations. And raising the debt ceiling cleanly 3 times!
What your doing is BS and if we default that’s all on you! Discussions on ways to lower spending to cut the deficit can happen during budget and appropriations talks. Meant to be done separately.
