Let me see if I have this... Gas shortage during COVID caused the pres to release oil from the SPR. GOP got mad. Russia invaded Ukraine and gas prices went up. Pres again released oil from the reserve. GOP got mad. Now the GOP wants to tap into the reserve and now it's ok?

I have driven up and down the state of California and seen many oil pumps continuing to pump. I don’t know where you’re getting your information.
