Maybe that is because there is an acute affordable housing shortage across the nation? Maybe increase the minimum wage, reduce healthcare costs and more people would be able to afford non-subsidized housing?

Now Tom, you may assist the working poor, to stay poor, but you can’t lie about helping them when you cut SNAP during a time where food prices are at an all time high, cut the lunch programs to add to that SNAP cut, voters with a brain will remember it all!

I know a lot of folks that lived in public housing situations. Most moved on. Some raised kids who were able to buy homes after they grew into adulthood. What Scotty feels to mention is that high rent prices and low minimum wage is what keep folks in public housing.
