We should have begun shifting to EVs 30 years ago to become less dependent on fossil fuels, but the fossil fuel industries paid politicians not to go there. As a result, we need to extract profits from Big Oil to pay for the consequences they created.

Texas sold their largest oil refinery to Saudi Arabia. Why would they do that? Greed? Corruption? Kickbacks? Next up: Arizona sold land & water rights to Saudi Arabia for mere pennies on the dollar. Why would they do that? Greed? Corruption? Kickbacks? Both repub run states.
