Allowing private companies to become thought police would be egregious and illegal overreach. My office will be looking into the validity of PayPal’s new policy and taking any necessary action to stop this type of corporate activism.

Don't drop the ball just because they backtracked and removed the policy. Kindly find out whether or not PRIVATE COMPANIES may FINE people, because this goes WAY beyond a fee charged for the cost of doing business to fix some customer's mess (like a bounced check).
