Today marks one year since the Biden Admin’s poorly-planned, and chaotic Afghanistan evacuation that led to the fall of Kabul. A crisis that saw the loss of 13 U.S. servicemembers, empowered the Taliban, and sent a message of weakness to our adversaries.

As a "Senator" why did you let Trump negotiate with the Taliban without the Afghan government? Why did you let him cut a deal putting our Afghan allies in such peril? Do you understand the "advise & consent" role of Senators? Trump just emasculated the @All100Senators

Nothing empowered Taliban more than Trump negotiating directly with them, inviting them to Camp David ignoring their continued attacks & calling them the new government. Not to mention drawing down troops to 2500 w/NO evacuations & releasing 5000 Taliban.
FLASHBACK: In February 2020, Donald Trump discussed how he empowered the Taliban to take over Afghanistan after America's departure

The date that the Taliban’s victory was assured is Feb. 29, 2020, the day tRump signed what it characterized as a “peace” deal with the Taliban. Once this agreement was signed — the tragic collapse we witnessed this weekend was inevitable. thehill.com/opinion/national…

They could have done it in a way that didn’t abandon literally tens of thousands of Afghans who had assisted us and and been promised emigration to the US.
