It shouldn’t be as difficult as it is for charter school start-ups to get federal support. Every kid in America deserves a solid educational upbringing full of potential & opportunity.

You're right about private/independent schools. Charter schools compete for public funding but can be run by for-profit organizations and are exempt by many state regulations. IMO magnet and neighborhood schools are a better use of public funding. bit.ly/3uZbbgR

As I said, "can be run". It's nice that Your Father's School wasn't run by a for-profit corporation. My friend, who also ran a charter school, was working for a for-profit organization, and they had some off-putting ethics. Different standards and all.
Sometimes they are--not all the time. Sometimes they discriminate. I'm not paying for that.

Baloney. Our tax money is for public schools. If parents want to send their kids to a charter school they can pay for it. The money should go to improve public education.
