Tonight the Senate passed my anti-lynching legislation, taking a necessary and long-overdue step toward a more unified and just America. After working on this issue for years, I am glad to have partnered with colleagues on both sides of the aisle to finally get this done.

Youreva joke. You and Clarence Thomas are complete jokes. It's not your bill. Get the John Lewis Bill passed if you want to brag about something. Passing a bill for something already illegal isn't an accomplishment. Tom!

What is Congress's obsession with lynching? That ended more than 100 years ago. GROW UP!

Is lynching that widespread of an issue where it can’t be taken care of by state murder statutes? Or is this just symbolism? If it is, just say so.

Hey Tim -- which of your colleagues were holding this up and voting NO for so many years? Why did it take the modern day lynching of Ahmaud Arbery to wake them up?!!! You know who they are. The same lawmakers are holding up progressive police reform.

And now…show your stuff… get behind the voting rights act. It is the right thing to do.

It is an embarrassment that it took so long for this legislation to pass. I am very glad it finally did.

We already have a hate crime bill. Because of the root nature of the offense, lynching is a form of hate. What happened to removing the student loan debt which the President used as his platform?
