I look forward to meeting with Judge Jackson and thoroughly vetting her record, as I have done for all previous nominees to the Supreme Court during my time in the Senate.  1/3

As a fellow South Carolinian and the product of some of America’s finest public schools, I believe Judge Michelle Childs would have been an excellent nominee to our nation’s highest court. 2/3

I am disappointed that President Biden missed the opportunity to nominate a highly-qualified judge who would have garnered widespread bipartisan support. 3/3

I suspect Biden doesn't want widespread bipartisan support -- energizing the base, and all that, especially given his poll numbers.

“Biden missed the opportunity to nominate a highly qualified judge.”
Judge Jackson has 8.9 years of prior judicial experience. That’s more than four current Justices (Thomas, Roberts, Kagan, & Barrett) had *combined.* It's also more than 4 of the last 10 Justices had at their confirmations; 9 of the last 17; and 43 of the 58 appointed since 1900:

I don’t remember you whining about the extremist unqualified judges that your party rammed through and had zero “bipartisan support”

Umm,Barrett is the least experienced judge to serve in 30yrs! Until 45 nominated her to the 7th Circuit Ct of Appeals in 2017, never been a judge, worked in govt as a prosecutor, defense lawyer, solicitor general, or attorney general, etc. plz bring it. We’re ready for this fight!

You just have to be disappointed the best people are not always from South Carolina

So you already decided that she is not sufficiently qualified?

Please explain how @POTUS "missed" an opportunity to nominate a highly-qualified judge? I would suggest you compare judges Jackson's credentials to Coney Barrett or perhaps she could be more of a partisan like Kavanaugh, both of whom you supported.

The president DID in fact nominate a highly qualified judge, who BUT FOR the usual partisan obstruction, WILL garner widespread bipartisan support!
