#BreonnaTaylor’s life must mean more than this. I am disappointed that the only charge brought was completely unrelated to Ms. Taylor’s death. I am also praying for the two officers shot last night during unrest that followed the announcement of these charges.

I admire what I’ve heard of your story & quoted you in my church. But I don’t understand “disappointment.” Are accounts of events accurate? If so, perhaps the lesson here is personal choices have consequences- it’s not always someone else’s fault, no matter how tragic the result.

We as individuals no matter what color, choose who we partner with in life. Wish she would have left the boyfriend after a dead body was found in the trunk of her rental car. Not saying the police did everything right, just saying we need to look at the common factor here. Crime.

Shouldn’t her boyfriend be charged for her death? Since he fired on officers, which was why they returned fire, and was the catalyst for her being caught in the crossfire? If he hadn’t shot, she would still be alive.

Very surprised at your statement here. I’m a supporter of you in SC but am shocked that you are taking this stance, especially now that we know more facts. Very disappointed.

I am disappointed that you & so many others seem to think you know more than those who conducted a thorough investigation of this incident. Maybe we should stop judging these things online & allow the courts to handle them.

Change comes in many forms, Sen Scott. Life choices sometimes come with high risks. We need to push people to raise the bar on societal expectations; stop normalizing drug usage, violence, etc. in movies, song lyrics, etc. Teach and demonstrate accountability from an early age.

Senator Scott, I do not always agree with you, but thank you for acknowledging this concern to the American people. I am not an attorney, but it is hard to understand that not one person was charged for the death of this young person.

Extremely disappointed Senator Scott, I say this as a constituent. Ms. Taylor knew exactly what she was doing when she hooked up w/a drug-dealing thug. Ms. Taylor put herself in that position. Nobody did that to her. It’s sad that she died because of her choices.

I suggest you listen more carefully to the AG’s statement. The FACTS are all there. Then you can stop making accusations that are now known to be nonsense.
