How long until we can “easily” keep it from launching every time I put it on my stand for storage?

Just turn off the oculus runtime in windows ‘services’, it won’t ever load until you decide to restart it again.

Of course. Just do the same, but restart it. It’s either that or recreate your stand so the sensor isn’t covered during non-usage
