In less than a week I put over twice as much time into Tales of Arise than I have into Resident Evil Village sine launch. Village isn't bad at all, I do like it, but I don't know it's just not grabbing me like previous RE games.
Yeah a lot of similarities with 7, but I think the ways it differs are the parts I don't like as much. The setting is just far less scary to me, all of the cast is so dramatic and theatrical, and the level design is less precise. The lack of VR also is a factor haha
