Just looking at this video makes me nervous. I feel like I'd totally fall!

That's me. It's open-source for anyone to make or improve upon (on github). That's an older version by the way.

I like it. But from a buy-in and safety first standpoint I'm thinking a mobile platform with a low profile, with moving components level to that "ground." If you miss a step it's like coming off an escalator, nothing too crazy. Minimizes twisted ankles and falls. Fancy art. ;-D

I'm never going to put a VR sensory deprivation goggle box on my head, unless I'm firmly planted in a nice plush comfy recliner, where I can't trip/fall and break my back in the first 5 minutes. For foot motion, I'd use servo-assisted foot cradles, to walk & run effortlessly.

So this is how you get some exercise after sitting all day.

Sorry, but if VR devs still think that people want to move and stand while playing a game for longer than a few minutes they are just wrong. I prefer seated games and I think a lot of people do, too. The 360, standing, walking VR stuff is nice in short experiences only.

Very cool tech but those harnesses make it so not main stream. VR needs to be fully wireless and harness free 馃檶

The strap to the ceiling is how I think cyberith virtualizer should have gone. Makes answering the door very tricky though!
