Folks, a random YouTube Q - how many subscribers would you need for making videos to be your only job? Let's say you wanted to make $50K a year, how big would you have to be?

100% depends on sponsors, I know some people that make a few g’s per video and that’s before ads, it truthfully just depends on what you’re doing/promoting

That helps. I have a friend who quit his job when he had as many subs as me, but it's all about watch time + patreon.

I completely forgot about Patreon, YT also has live donations now as well!

Very true, though it's still recommended to donate via SteamLabs as opposed to Super Chat as YouTube takes 30-40% of your donations. As always told to me, "build your brand, not your YouTube channel' I like my day job, but YouTube pays for my hobby (cons, vr, etc)
