Minecraft data is stored locally on your device and isn't attached to your account. Check our guides on managing data/game storage: help.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/…. If you're subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online, you also have access to using Save Data Cloud: nintendo.com/switch/online/. ^FF
Unlinking your PSN doesn't reset or sever the link between the two accounts; even after unlinking, Microsoft and PSN accounts can only be re-linked to the previously linked accounts. You can check out our FAQ for further info: help.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/…. ^FF

Oh no! Hopefully we can help. To make sure we point you in the right direction, could you confirm if you use a Mojang account or a Microsoft account to log in to Minecraft? Also, which platform do you play on? ^LK

Once a Microsoft account has been linked to a PSN account, neither of the accounts can be associated with a different account. Unlinking accounts will cause your purchases to be returned to the original Microsoft account and will no longer be available on the PSN account. ^LK

Ohhh, I see. I tested it out and both do yield the same amount of XP, one stack of iron gave just over 4 levels for both. It looks like that Block of the Week article was published in 2020, so it might have changed since then. I'm personally OK with getting the same XP. ^LK
