@MojangSupport My friend is experiencing an issue where minecraft: Java is asking him to select a username/name to go by. When he enters his name, it shows its taken. (Even though on the launcher it shows his name). Can't find a place Microsoft can be reached. Any suggestions?

Have them double-check which account they're signed in to in the launcher; if they're prompted to create a new name, this means that account doesn't own a copy of the game. If they're still having trouble, have your friend reach out to Support: msft.it/6018i3KBK. ^FF
