@MojangSupport why must you require a microsoft account in order to play realms and servers? i understand needing online like ps plus and xbox gold but after 3 years my playstation account still wont connect to ANY microsoft account and nobody has helped me at all

The Realms and cross-platform server infrastructure requires Microsoft accounts in order to work, as it uses Gamertags as identifiers in-game. Once a Microsoft account has been linked to a PSN account, neither of the accounts can be associated with a different account. ^LK
