Does this error pop up when you're trying to update Minecraft, or when launching the game? If this pops up inside the game, try completely closing Minecraft and then see if the update is available for you then. Let us know if you continue running into any issues! ^FF

This is happening to me too and the msg pops up when i try to launch the game before the login screen
