@MojangSupport minecraft is broken and won't spawn redstone or lapis after a clean install.

It seems to have resolved itself. I was experiencing an issue with textures of redstone not rendering properly, then not generating the ores altogether. A purge of .minecraft directories and a reinstallation seems to have fixed the issue. Thanks for the reply.
