Can you tell us a little more about this issue? Which device/edition are you and your friend playing? Is there a specific update you are trying to update to, and is there any troubleshooting you've already tried? That way we can narrow down any specific issues. ^AM

We're both on Java edition, the update is an auto update thing I guess, it just keep updating when we try to open Minecraft but after "downloading update files" to a certain point it pops up "Unable to update the Minecraft Native Launcher" everytime. Only workaround was Multimc

Mine just randomly updated successfully and it's playable again for some reason, but thank you for your time ^_^
