Hey @MojangSupport, is something going on with the authentication servers? I've been running an ancient server version on my machine for years, was playing fine last night, but today, every time I try to login, it tells me that I can't connect due to the auth servers being down.

Authentication server errors are usually caused by something disrupting your connection. You may try logging out and back in to refresh your authentication, but it could be caused by malware/third-party software. Try running an antivirus sweep and let us know if that helps! ^AM

Logged out, rebooted, reset gateway, restarted server, and scanned for malware. Connect attempts result in the same error. On the server side, I'm noticing that my connection comes through in the terminal with id=<null>. Perhaps that is a hint.

Can you try checking to see if your video card drivers are up to date? More info on this can be found at bit.ly/3TNmNPe. If up to date, then you may need to reinstall the game. Before doing so, be sure to back up your worlds as these are saved locally on your device. ^FF

Drivers are up to date. Reinstalled both the launcher and the game installation. Same issue persists. If I set online-mode to false in the server settings. I can log in, so I think it is isolated to the online authentication.

NGL, that support ticket was incredibly disappointing. No one even read the info I provided. Same fixes suggested over and over. Can someone over there answer these: id=<null> in the server console: is that a hint? Did something change on the auth side between the 26th & 28th?
