I'm sorry to hear that! If they were single player worlds we won't be able to assist you in getting them back :( If they were on Realms, however, you can upload the the backup. ^TK

Could you explain why even when I tried to start a new world, the lag was so bad I couldn’t even play. I never had lag in one of my own worlds before this update. It’s the absolute worst.

There could be many reasons as to why that's happening, I'm sorry to say. Are you still experiencing lag? ^BT

I haven’t played today, but yes the last time I played was very bad lag. My console has a direct line into my modem , so I don’t have issues with WiFi. And before this 1.1931 update I had zero lag in my own world

Do you have any third-party mods on your game? If so, can you try taking them off to see if that helps? ^BT
