i just loaded up my world after the update and my whole world got reset

Oh no! Have you tried uploading an older backup of your world? ^AM

i don’t quite know how to do that but i’ve tried almost everything from loading the world up on my other console and and trying to see if it was only on one console but it went through on both.

Unfortunately, Mojang doesn't store any info on your worlds; those files only exist locally on your device and we cannot recover lost Minecraft worlds or items. We suggest using the Realms feature to prevent this issue from happening again in the future. ^FF
