@MojangSupport I purchased Pocket Edition on the Amazon appstore in 2015 and after a long period of inactivity I felt like getting it again ironically hours after it became unavailable. I was wondering how I could link that purchase to my Google Play

If you got pocket edition through Amazon you wouldn't be able to link it to your google play as you would have to purchase it through the google play store. You're still able to access the pocket edition through amazon, correct? ^TK

Through Amazon itself yes, but that doesn't mean anything because i'd need to access it through the Amazon Appstore in order to actually install it. So I have a copy of the game that I can't use because I don't own an Amazon device.

Amazon apps are only available on Amazon devices. If you're unable to access it on your mobile device I'm afraid you would need to refund it through the platform you purchased it on and re-purchase the game on Google Play to access it with your Android. ^AC

I can't, because Amazon does not refund games. Whoever decided that Minecraft will only be available on Amazon devices better get a "promotion" because they were very creative in screwing the customer over indeed. Thank you for your time.
