Soo uhh is it safe for modders to migrate since there have been several cases for Minecraft modders loosing access to their accounts?

I'm in a weird pickle. My ex was the one who bought me Minecraft 8 years ago (we were in high school and I couldn't afford it), so the account's technically under his email. I haven't spoken to him in years. Is there a way I can recover my account without accessing that email?

i tried a few months ago, and again now, on chrome, firefox, edge, incognito mode, etc - pressing the "get code" button just gives me an error screen every time, so i can't migrate :/ your FAQs all assume user error, but there's only one button and that's the button i clicked so

I tried to migrate my account but nothing worked, even with the new Microsoft account. What is going on? Can you explain this? And this is a Legacy Minecraft account btw.

I got a problem. I started to migrate my account, and got to this step, however my internet crashed and I had to reload the page, which then showed that something went wrong. I am also now unable to select my wanted microsoft account. How can I fix it?
