I have e-mailed help desk several times and only gotten a reply once, which wasn't helpful as it restarted what the faq already said, and which doesn't apply to my case. I have a legacy account, on a new computer that doesn't have Minecraft installed. I can't migrate. Help?

Right, but that doesn't help me. I'm fine with having to wait to migrate my account. It says the launcher will tell me when it's my turn but I can't download Minecraft without logging in and it won't let me login until I migrate so I'm in a weird catch 22. What can I do?
