Is really necessary link a microsoft account? Works like a shit sorry for the word... I don’t like the idea ... microsoft has a really problem with passwords and since before windows 10, I experiment that kind of errors...(like don’t recognize the pass and is 💯 write right)

"You’ll get an email that will include instructions on how to move your account." No I won't-- that email address no longer works. I have to use my older email with my old account on it that couldn't be recovered for some reason.

So are you saying anyone who doesn't play for an extended period, doesn't hear about this, and then comes back say a year from now will no longer own Minecraft Java since their Mojang account will be disabled? If so, absolutely brilliant idea guys. 10/10.

I've sent a request asking this, but I'll try asking here too: is it possible to migrate a legacy Minecraft account directly to a Microsoft account? I lost both my email used to make the legacy and the transaction ID, but can still play on my account. I don't want to lose it.
