@MojangSupport My sons minecraft launcher is on version 1.6.93 and he can't work out how to update it? \he wants to be able to run mods, but can't update installation info on this version?

Sorry for the confusion. The launcher itself should auto update once you close and open it back up, but if it doesn't, I would try again with your anti-virus disabled or download a fresh copy of the game from Minecraft.net. I hope that helps! ^AS
