@MojangSupport My sons minecraft launcher is on version 1.6.93 and he can't work out how to update it? \he wants to be able to run mods, but can't update installation info on this version?

That's the minecraft version, not the launcher version. His launcher version does not have an Installation option. So, that page doesn't help..
