@MojangSupport i was playing on a realm when all of a sudden it lagged and disconnected me. i’ve restarted the game and xbox and i still cannot join the realm. any ideas?

We're sorry to hear about this. While this is most likely a temporary issue, please try logging out and into your Minecraft account within your game launcher, and close/re-open your Realm. I hope this helps! ^SA
