Because only Minecraft Java Edition is available on Mac OS, you'll want to be sure you're playing with Minecraft Java PC users if you're playing on a Mac. I hope this helps! ^SA

my boyfriend has the java edition in his pc and i have it on my mac but it doesn’t let us play together in separate houses. we can play together at the same house but not separately
